UWA Press is delighted to announce that four of its books published in 2007 have been shortlisted in the Premier's Book Awards to be awarded on Thursday 30 October by the Western Australian Premier, Colin Barnett MLA.

Two books are featured in the Fiction category: A History of the Beanbag and other stories by Susan Midalia, and The Seamstress by Geraldine Wooller.

Dr Antonio Buti of the UWA Law School is shortlisted in the non-fiction category with his biography of Sir Ronald Wilson.

Finally, Graeme Henderson's definitive Unfinished Voyages: Western Australian Shipwrecks 1622-1850 is in contention for the History Award.

UWA Press Director and Publisher, Associate Professor Terri-ann White, wished all authors well and anticipated further attention and sales to these books.

"We are thrilled that each of these books was selected by the judges to be highlighted in this shortlist."

Each of the four authors also has a connection as graduate or staff member with UWA.
