Former Deputy Prime Minister and ALP Leader Kim Beazley has returned to scholarship at The University of Western Australia as a Professorial Fellow.

UWA Vice-Chancellor, Professor Alan Robson, said Professor Beazley would add tremendous intellectual value to the University particularly in areas of politics, public policy and international relations.

“The UWA community is delighted to welcome Kim Beazley back to the University from which he graduated and from where he achieved a high level of scholarship including becoming a Rhodes Scholar,” he said.

“There is no doubt that Kim Beazley has made a tremendous contribution to the nation and the State over the length of his parliamentary career serving in many roles as a Cabinet Minister, Leader of the Opposition and as Deputy Prime Minister.”

Professor Robson said Professor Beazley’s fractional appointment would enable him to contribute to the life of the University through research and scholarship in the study of politics and international relations.
