The following is a progresss update on the Business School Campaign....

Going up - the Large Lecture Theatre

Driving around Pelican Point along Hackett Drive in Crawley you can see the new building construction progressing by the day. Due for completion by mid 2008, the building is taking shape with the basement and lift wells completed and the western and eastern walls now erected. Situated at the southern end of the picturesque UWA campus, the trusses of the large lecture theatre are now in place and these internal developments are giving shape to the structure that will house the Business School.

Campaign progress

The construction of the building reflects the progress of the fundraising campaign that is now well over halfway to achieving its goal of raising $25 million. Funds raised will contribute to construction of the building and enhance student and staff quality along with research and education outcomes via the Futures Fund.

Welcome HBF - Major Partner

Last month, we had pleasure in welcoming HBF as they join us as a major corporate partner of the Business School Campaign. HBF's sponsorship includes the Annual HBF Wellbeing Lecture that will address issues and ideas about enhancing wellbeing within our community in line with HBF's slogan to "Live Life Well".

Silver Corporate Circle member - Grange Securities Ltd.

We also welcome Grange Securities Ltd., a Lehman Brothers Company, as a Silver member of our new Corporate Circle program. The campaign team is working hard at engaging business participation and has recently developed the Corporate Circle Program for companies interested in a membership style relationship with the Business School. For more information on the program or corporate sponsorship, please contact Kylie Aitkenhead on 6488 8538.

Alumni donations

A number of personal donations have been received following the successful alumni event held for postgraduate alumni in March. Over the next month, Fundraising Committee member and former GMA President Charlie Gunningham, along with our valued supporters - Brian Leedman, also a former GMA President, and Norm Roberts, a current GMA member, will be contacting those who attended the event to discuss involvement in the campaign.

We would like to thank each alumni who has already made a donation and acknowledge in advance those who will.

Annual Alumni Giving Appeal

An annual alumni appeal for the Business School campaign will be held to encourage graduates to participate in the campaign by contributing a gift, large or small, or making a pledge over a number of years.
