The University of Western Australia IEEE Student Branch (IEEESB) is a thriving student group which runs popular functions throughout the year for electrical and electronic engineering students as well as software and computer science students. The UWA IEEESB is supported by IEEE and is helped by Dr Jasmine Henry (UWA IEEE Student Activities Co-ordinator).

Since 2000, the enterprising student group has organised their committee, organised annual elections, recruited new members and, with a small start up fund, have been organising functions that benefit engineering and computer science students and industry.

A highlight is the annual IEEE Student Networking Forum. This is an expo-style function where companies in the fields of electrical and electronic engineering, software engineering and computer science meet and speak to students about vacation work opportunities and graduate employment. This event provides an excellent opportunity to tell students about projects that the companies are involved with and the benefits of working for these organisations.

If you or your company are interested in being involved with the IEEE Student Branch contact Dr Henry on 6488 2537. She will be happy to put you in touch with the appropriate person on the student branch.
