A team of Business School students has won the national SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise) championships and will represent Australia at the SIFE International Championships to be held in Singapore from 1-4 October.

Twenty teams participated in the Australian National Competition held on 10-12 July, and more than 350 people attended this event.  After presenting to three separate judging panels consisting of executives from companies such as QANTAS, Cadbury Schweppes and Woolworths, SIFE UWA was crowned the 2008 QANTAS SIFE Australia National Champions.

The UWA team beat teams from Melbourne University, UNSW and Bond University.  The team was supported by two Business School staff members, Dr Donella Caspersz who has worked with the SIFE team since its inception, and Dr Donia Olaru who has joined the team this year.

The student participants representing UWA at the national competition were Jade Winterton, Michelle Bacon, Urszula Cichy, Adrian Rodrigues, Natasha Ngoma, Hayden Teo, Michael Crossley, Christina Smolarek.
