The Business School is planning many exciting events for the second half of 2008.

Shann Memorial Lecture - 19 August
Presented by Lieutenant General John Sanderson AC

Lieutenant General John Sanderson will speak about the situation of Indigenous people in Western Australia.  He will analyse impediments to Indigenous development and he will propose policies that promise to overcome the current impasse in Indigenous affairs.

Lieutenant General John Sanderson is the Special Adviser to the Government of Western Australia on Indigenous Affairs.  He served as Governor of Western Australia from 2000 to 2005.

The Shann Memorial Lecture is a free event and is open to the public.

Breakfast by the Bay Series

Trevor Nisbett - 10 September 2008

We are delighted to welcome Trevor Nisbett, Chief Executive Officer of the West Coast Eagles Football Club as guest speaker for September's Breakfast by the Bay.

Trevor commenced his career with the club in September 1989 as Football Manager.  In March 1999 he became the Acting Chief Executive and was later appointed to the position of Chief Executive in June 1999.

Upcoming International Events


The Business School will be hosting three Alumni and Friends events in August this year.  the first will be a cocktail party in Jakarta on 7th August followed by on the 12th in Kuala Lumpur at the Malaysian Petroleum Club and the third will be held at the Singapore Cricket Club on the 14th August. Nobel Laureate, Professor Barry Marshall will be the keynote speaker at the Kuala Lumpur and Singapore events.  This is a great opportunity to reconnect with the University and with fellow graduates.
