The Faculty of Life and Physical Sciences is one of the largest faculties at UWA, managing thousands of students on and off campus. Science is an incredibly diverse field of study, with each year thousands of graduates entering the work force as professionals in their chosen field, whether it be chemistry, psychology, anatomy and human biology, the different paths science students can take are seemingly endless. Science Union is the Faculty Society for the Faculty of Life and Physical Sciences, it is quite a unique club, because it has the ability to bring together students from all over campus with all sorts of different interests and career paths, creating an interesting and diverse network of individuals.

Science Union is a club run by students for students, providing both social and educational events each year SU helps to improve the whole university experience for all students studying science at UWA. Science Union is the second oldest faculty society dating back 82 years, and continues to be an active club on campus as a result of continued support by the Faculty of Life and Physical Sciences, the Guild and Science Union members.

In 2006 with a devoted and enthusiastic new committee science union aims to continue supporting science students by providing advice about the ins and outs of student life, organising educational events, participating in inter-faculty sport, and of course our eagerly anticipated social events. At the beginning of first semester each year Science Union runs a weekend long camp for first year students, this allows all participants to get to know some of their peers, be able to identify some second and third year students that may be able to help them throughout their settling in period, and help smooth the transition from high school to university life.

As it is quickly discovered by most students university is not just about social interaction. An important part of Science Union's agenda for 2006 is the planning and undertaking of educational events, in the form of a careers night and the possibility of tutoring sessions. In previous years events have been held by individual clubs within the Faculty, such as the Psychos career night. This year however, through collaboration with other such clubs Science Union hopes to hold an event for all students enrolled in the Faculty of Life and Physical Sciences.

Science Union actively supports the involvement and feedback of all science students, for without the students, Science Union could not exist. Anyone who wants to get involved can contact the committee; all details and further information about Science Union are available on their website https://scienceunion.org.au .
