You can now print in 3D in the Science Library thanks to the generous UWA alumni who contributed to the 2014 Alumni Annual Fund. The 3D printing service is available to all UWA staff and students as well as alumni and community members.

A 3D printer takes a digital file containing a model and melts plastic material into thin layers which build up to create the model as a three-dimensional physical object. 3D printing offers UWA students the opportunity to turn their ideas into working prototypes and as a technology it is already beginning to revolutionize design and manufacturing.

The 3D printer will be available in the Science Library as a trial.

More information about the 3D printing trial can be found at https://www.library.uwa.edu.au/it-help/students/library-computers/3d-printing-trial/
