It’s day three and things are really heating up on the Gold Coast!
UWA fencing continue dominate, taking home another bronze medal - today in the sabre competition. Congratulations George, Jonathon and Pei Xiang!
Ryan and Maksim had another standout day on the beach, flying through to the beach volleyball grand final with a comfortable win over University of Queensland (2-0). They will face University of Sydney tomorrow, where they’ll hope to make it back-to-back gold medal wins. UWA Rowing have qualified for all their finals events, which will begin tomorrow morning at the scenic
Our mixed ultimate team unfortunately went down to Deakin 6-15 in their quarter final, despite high spirits. Our table tennis had a convincing win over USYD (6-0) and will proceed to play off for 8th position tomorrow.
Badminton have had a tough run and unfortunately won’t play for a medal tomorrow, they’ll play off for 5th/6th position - it’ll be a rematch RMIT though, who claimed silver in Division 2 where UWA claimed gold.
This evening, a large turnout from Team UWA arrived at the Gold Coast Sport and Leisure Centre to show to show their support for our Cheer and Dance squad. The 18 strong team brought strong energy and performed a great routine in the co-ed level 3/4 category, taking out a bronze medal!
