Four projects lead by staff members from The Faculty of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences have been successful in the inaugural round of the UWA Communities of Practice initiative.
Launched in late 2018 as part of UWA’s Teaching Excellence Initiatives, Communities of Practice provide opportunities for academic and professional staff to establish interdisciplinary networks, share expertise and develop innovative approaches to enhancing teaching and learning.
The four EMS projects are:
Developing Technological Leaders
Associate Professor Sally Male (School of Engineering) and Mr Santiago Perez (UWA School of Design)
Scaffolding and Assessment of Student Teamwork Skills
Associate Professor Dianne Hesterman (Faculty of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences), Associate Professor Sally Male (School of Engineering) and Professor Phil Hancock (FABLE)
UWA's School and Community Engagement Across Western Australia
Ms Elisa McGowan (Equity Outreach, Student Experience) and Ms Madeline Hermawan (Girls in Engineering, BMR)
Virtual School of Data Science
Associate Professor Mark Reynolds (School of Physics, Mathematics and Computing)
