The Aussie Sharks have named their side for the FINA World League Super Final in Budapest, Hungary.

UWA Torpedoes stars Andrew Ford and Tim Putt both join the squad in the first major competition since the Australian Water Polo League.

The Australian team have been training with reigning World Champions Croatia throughout the week, and faced host Hungary in the first game, before turning their attention to Japan and Montenegro in the pool stages.

The Sharks previously faced Hungary in the opening match of the 2017 FINA World Championships, and had hoped that the clash would provide useful experience for the squad.

Unfortunately, it was not to be, with the hosts defeating Australia 12-5 by the end of the final quarter of play.

This leaves the two remaining group matches vital for the Sharks to have any real chance of progressing through the competition.

In the last 12 months, both Andrew and Tim have cemented their places in the Australian side, with standout performances in an inexperienced UWA Torpedoes squad.

If the Sharks progress through the group stages, they may face either Croatia or recent rivals USA who had the edge over Australia in the recent Intercontinental Cup.
