Judo Australia has named its teams for a range of international competitions in July, including several judoka from the UWA Judo Club.

The athletes have been chosen to represent Australia in the Cadet and Junior Asian Tour in Hong Kong and Macau after strong performances at the recent Australian National Judo Championship.

During that tournament, UWA Judo Club recorded 18 medals, including eight gold, showing their continuing quality on the national stage.

Josephine Haddow has been selected in the 57kg category after winning gold in 57kg cadets and silver in the 57kg junior.

Fellow UWA judoka Maria Swan has earnt selection through her silver win in the women’s cadet 63kg.

Meanwhile, in the men’s category, rising star Rhys Allan is once again representing Australia on the world stage, after winning double gold in the junior and cadet 73kg.

Jordon Greenbank will also join the Australian squad after a gold win in the 60kg.

Another National Championships gold medallist, Rihari Iki , will also compete in the Cadet Asian Cup, facing his UWA Judo Club team mates under the New Zealand flag.

The Cadet and Junior Asian Tour takes place in Hong Kong and Macau from the 14-22 July.
