Did you know that UWA has a campus in Albany that is reflective of the main Perth campus in many aspects?

From its own (albeit Lilliputian) clock tower in the main building, to its waterfront location and beautiful heritage buildings, the UWA Albany campus brims with life and is nestled right in the city, close to the popular café strip.

Known for offering unique field-based units and for having a strong connection to local industry and the community, it’s not surprising to see the Albany campus attracting metropolitan students who want to make the most of their university experience.

There are a number of ways students can choose to spend part of their degree studying in Albany.

Students at any stage in their degree are eligible to spend a semester there, and can study a range of units from a number of majors, with no disruption to their degree structure.

Those looking for a shorter experience can study summer or winter intensive units. This year, many Perth-based students chose to head to the Albany campus to combine a week or two of fun with a field-based summer elective, broadening or core unit.

The Albany campus is also home to the specialist Study InBroad package, for students in the third year of their degree and enrolled in eligible majors. The Study InBroad experience includes group recreational activities and the unique opportunity to enrol in one of Albany’s Research Residency units. Students are teamed with industry experts via direct involvement in real projects, equipping them with skills for a smooth transition from university life to working in their chosen field.
