A new monthly student newsletter, 360 degrees, was launched last week with the aim of improving the student experience by transforming our approach to communicating with students via email.

This newsletter provides a channel to streamline important information in a targeted and coordinated manner. The previous approach of staff sending emails to groups of students without proper coordination had proved problematic with students expressing concern about the sheer number of emails they receive. The software application chosen to manage these newsletters allows us to specifically target content to students based on their faculty, whether they’re an undergraduate or postgraduate and international or domestic student, ensuring they are receiving content relevant to them. We are also able to include interactive elements such as videos and polls.

The launch has been positively received by both students and the initial staff involved in contributing content, so far reaching a 62% open rate. You can view the first edition here . The issue archive will provide a list of all monthly newsletters as they go live throughout the year.

If you have content you’d like considered for inclusion in an upcoming newsletter, please contact Grace Kovesi , Communications Adviser (Students).
