Good afternoon. Next week our new students will be on campus to join in the festivities of O-Week.

This year’s enhanced O-Week will take on a celebratory atmosphere and include more initiatives to connect students with the UWA community, helping them to settle in and make the most of campus life. This is an exciting time for them, marking the beginning of their UWA experience and we look forward to welcoming them.

The State’s future leaders were recognised last night at the School Curriculum and Standards Authority Exhibitions and Awards. I was pleased to join Her Excellency the Honourable Kerry Sanderson AC, Governor of Western Australia and the Hon Sue Ellery MLC, Minister for Education and Training at the ceremony where 90 of the State’s high achieving students received awards and now look towards the new challenges they will face at University.
