The annual UWA Sports Day was held on Friday 13 October with close to 500 staff participating in the fun-filled day.

The HMS team, dressed in yellow, kicked off the day participating in the 5km run and 3km walk, before tucking into a delicious lunch prepared by the University Club.

It was then onto the competitive part of the day with our teams putting on a valiant display of sportsmanship. The soccer team won their first game 5-0 against ABLE and the volleyball team had a clean sweep winning all three of their games.

"The volleyball team knocked it out of the park in all the matches we played, winning 3 out of 3 in style. However we lost the overall title on countback to the Central team who we didn't get a chance to play. It will be investigated by the Olympic council I'm sure," said Jay Jay Jegathesan.

Heulwen Schulz said, "It was great to see the faculties and people come together and engage in healthy activities and take advantage of the beautiful campus setting. It was a pleasure to support the day."

A big thank you to Heulwen for coordinating the day from the Faculty’s end and rallying up registrations, and to all those involved, whether playing or cheering on our teams.

We hope to see you next year!
