The School of Electrical, Electronic and Computer Engineering (EECE) would like to congratulate PhD student Lyndon White who was awarded Best Student Paper at the CICLing 2016 Conference .  His paper entitled Generating Bags of Words from the Sums of their Word Embeddings was a collaborative project with Professor Roberto Togneri, Dr Wei Liu and Winthrop Professor Mohammed Bennamoun.

The Best Student Paper award was granted by the Award Committee based on the reviewers' scores and the judgment of the Committee members. The criteria taken into account were: novelty, originality, importance of the reported work and overall quality of the paper. Eligible papers were those whose first author is a full-time student.

CICLing 2016 was hosted by the Mevlana University, Turkey.  It welcomed scientists working in different areas of the growing field of computational linguistics, intelligent text and speech processing. We hope that Lyndon will continue to contribue to research findings.
