The University branch of Save the Children Australia will hold its annual book sale in Winthrop Hall, below the UWA clock tower, from Friday 18 August to Wednesday 23 August.

The book sale is well established as an event in the university calendar. Thousands of donated books covering almost every subject area, as well as sheet music, recorded music and DVDs will be available at bargain prices.

This year the sale has expanded and will also include books in the Winthrop Hall foyer on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 August. Over 200 Folio Society books, car workshop manuals, book marks and postcards will be on sale. EFTPOS is available for purchases.

Proceeds from the sale contribute to the efforts of Save the Children in working for the Rights of the Child, as upheld by the United Nations. Save the Children programs in Western Australia and overseas are supported by the annual book sale.

The branch is helped by numerous volunteers who work throughout the year to prepare for the book sale including UWA students from the student branch of SCA, Uni Camp for Kids, UWA staff and families and other casual volunteers.

Anyone interested in volunteering at the book sale should email [email protected] .

For enquiries on donating books to the sale phone Save the Children on 9237 3900.
