The UWA Library is rolling out academic profiles for UWA’s research and teaching staff in the UWA Research Repository as part of a project sponsored by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research.

The project will consolidate the multiple online profiles currently available at UWA into a single, easily discoverable profile that ensures the work and achievements of UWA staff are communicated fully and accurately to researchers, students, industry partners and the wider community.

The UWA Research Repository is used for the collection of research publications, and shortly, open research datasets. It also holds contact information, details about research grants and student completion data. UWA staff will be able to leverage off this existing information to build their online academic profile and effectively promote their activities.

In the initial stage of the project, the Library will be gathering feedback from key stakeholder groups to ensure that profiles fulfil the requirements and meet the expectations of UWA staff. Following the implementation of any required system changes and the decommissioning of any superseded public profile systems, outreach activities are planned to support staff to update their profiles in the Repository.

The project is expected to be completed in late 2017. Updates on this initiative will be available via the Repository website .

Questions about the project can be directed to Cate Hunt or Scott Nicholls in the Library.
