Ryutaro Goto, a high profile International Judo competitor from Japan is currently in Perth for 10 days as part of an ongoing informal exchange between Keio University Judo Club and UWA Judo Club.
A Junior World Champion in 2014 (Under 21 years), runner-up Japanese University Sport Champion (2016), and bronze medal winner in The Kodokan Cup (2016). The UWA Judo club are excited to have him in Perth.
"We have been trying to develop an exchange with Keio Uni Judo Club for a number of years, and have been lucky enough to have Mr Sozo Maeda, ex-captain of Keio University Judo, living and working in Perth. Ryutaro has been teaching and training with our UWA Judo Club Members, both Senior and Juniors while enjoying the hospitality of UWA Judo Club here in Perth.
In the last few years, UWA Judo have sent both a team and a number of individual competitors to visit the Keio Uni dojo in Tokyo, and last year hosted Kensuke Gunji ( Keio Uni Judo Club Captain) and 5 other Keio Uni Judo members when they came to came to Perth.
