Please note the tour is on Wednesday 21 December. Apologies for the error in UWA Forward.

Time is more than two hands on a clock. Time allows us to store many memories and like the board game Snakes and Ladders, my memories in reflection have been mostly ‘up’ moments. I feel blessed!

Twenty-nine years ago when I first started at UWA the world was a different place to what it is today and while there have been more than a few challenges of late, change is inevitable. So I have accepted a redundancy and will mark Friday 23rd December as my retirement day!

I wanted to thank so many people before then, so I have organised with Brenda Tournier and her team at the Development and Alumni Office, one last “Oracle” tour for staff.

The tour will begin at the Visitors Centre at 3pm on Wednesday 21 December and finish in the Tropical Grove at 4pm, where there will be an unveiling of a bench that recognises ‘Moi’ and the wonderful team of UWA graduate volunteers of the Visitors Centre for their dedication and service over the past 18 years.

The Messiah on the Mount won’t be there with the 40 loaves and 40 fishes, instead there will be a toast and the commemoration of a bench in the Tropical Grove at the end of the tour. I urge all my friends and colleagues to come along and have a few laughs….I will be paying homage to Enid Blyton on the day, but to help with organising the crystal champagne flutes and French bubbles: please RSVP before Friday 16th December by ringing Sara Blanco X8559 and register at [email protected] .

My last tour for the general public will be Saturday, 17th at 1.30pm if you can’t make the 21st December.

Hope to see you there!

Terry
