Be ‘Open in Action’ during Open Access Week

Welcome to International Open Access Week (24th – 30th October). During this week the University Library will be offering a number of opportunities for you to find out more about the Open Access movement, the benefits of making your research open and how the Library can help you in the process.


This is a global event encouraging the academic and research community to learn about the benefits of Open Access, share what they’ve learned with colleagues, and help inspire wider participation in Open Access.

Open Access 101 Revisited Workshop

What is Open Access, why should you make your research open, and how can you do it at UWA? Come along to the University Library’s Open Access 101 workshop on Thursday 27th October, 10am-11am for an overview of ‘OA’ in the academic context and an update on recent developments in Australia and information about the UWA Research Repository.

New guide available: Publishing an Open Access journal

A recent update to the Open Access Toolkit includes a handy guide for journal publishers detailing steps and tips for making their ‘subscription’ journals more Open Access friendly. You can view the new guide here
