The UWA – West Coast Swimming Club swam their way to a stunning victory at the A-Grade Swimming WA Premiership at the beginning of March. The club’s 61 swimmers amassed 485 points at the one-day event, beating their closest rival, Perth City, by nearly 100 points.

UWA students Hadley Lindsay, John Shepherd and Chelsea Unwin all put in great performances helping their club to victory.

The Premiership is the showcase of Western Australia’s swimming talent and it’s the first time UWA-West Coast has won the event. The club was established four months ago by combining the long standing UWA and West Coast swimming clubs.  It provides an inclusive, end-to-end squad-swimming pathway from learning to swim to elite International competitive level.  With programs focused on developing technical skills, fitness, recreational and competitive swimming there is something for everyone – and all UWA staff and students are welcome.  The club's performance at the 2016 Premiership highlighted just a snapshot of the depth and breadth of the club’s swimmers and this is just the beginning.
