Approximately 40 students in the first Master of School Leadership cohort are set to complete their studies later this year.   Marie Adams is one of three students who have completed their degrees earlier this month as a result of credit from other study.

Marie began the course in 2011, the year the Department of Education WA offered this opportunity in partnership with UWA. She is currently Head of Learning Area (Humanities and Social Sciences) at Cape Naturalist College and looks forward to continuing her leadership role within the school.  She also hopes to encourage her peers and colleagues to seek further education opportunities to gain a broader experience on education and leadership.

“I’ve been working in education for 15 years, and seeing the positive change you can make to a young person’s life is rewarding. This is partly the reason why I chose to further my studies in education so that I may continue to positively help students but on a broader scale,” says Marie.

“The course gave me a broader perspective on education and leadership; it was interesting to take a more global view of educational issues, challenges and contexts.”

The Master of School Leadership program is a part-time Masters program offered by UWA in partnership with the Department of Education to teachers and all staff who aspire to lead in our public schools.
