Dr Mark Fielding has been awarded the “New Voice Scholarship in Educational Leadership Research by the Australian Council for Educational Leaders (ACEL) at this year’s national conference held in Sydney.The scholarship is a new initiative of the ACEL and is awarded to educators who are forward-thinkers and recognised as responsive education leaders to issues in Australian education by their peers.

A past graduate of The Faculty of Education at UWA, Mark’s recent research on the internationalisation of education in Australian schooling has won a number of research awards including, the Fogarty Foundation award and a prize for the "most outstanding postgraduate thesis on a topic relating to international education" by the International Education Association of Australia (IEAA). Mark’s research and active role as Director of Global Programs at St Stephen’s School captured the attention of his peers and those at the ACEL.

“I feel very privileged to have been awarded this scholarship by the Australia Council for Educational Leaders. Education is an immense passion of mine particularly in the area of internationalisaton of education within Australian Schools,” says Dr Fielding.

Mark was one of two Western Australians to be awarded a “New Voice” Scholarship for his work and contribution to education within Australia.
