Political Science and International Relations lecturers David Mickler and Mark Beeson both have articles in The Conversation this week.

David Mickler's piece titled 'Countering Boko Haram: can a regional approach help Nigeria?' considers the evolving regional approach to countering the Boko Haram insurgency that has been inflicting terror in and around northeastern Nigeria.

In 'The end of originality?' Mark Beeson asks why academia  no longer seems to generate the same sort of paradigm changing breakthroughs it once did, and wonders whether it's still actually possible to be original anymore
