Petite pianist Bryzlyn Lilac Sin obtained three first prizes in three sections at the 27th Joondalup Eisteddfod in September, being named most promising performing artist of the year and receiving a cash cheque of $1500 at the winners' concert held at Sacred Heart College.

Over 1600 performers took part in the Eisteddfod, resulting in twenty-four cash prize winners across eighty-two sections. The three sections Bryzlyn won were Solo AMEB Grade 6, Sonata Intermediate and Piano Duet Under 11 Years, with her sister Kaitlyn.

Success did not come instantly for this nine year old pianist. Bryzlyn started her piano lessons at five years old and remembers how devastated she was when she didn't win in her first competition. Bryzlyn practises hard on a daily basis and inĀ 2014 she has achieved both a High Distinction in her AMEB Grade 6 practical examination and Honours in her AMEB Grade 2 theory.

Bryzlyn is counting down to perform again at the Eisteddfod Showcase on the Joondalup Festival Outdoor Stage on 28 March 2015 at 2pm.
