Thinking beyond the traditional retirement age and giving back to the community were just some of the topics up for discussion when a group of UWA Business School students attended the inaugural Azure Capital Student Boardroom Lunch last month.

The ten Business School students - who are studying a mix of undergraduate and postgraduate courses - were hosted by Mr John Poynton (Co-Founder and Chairman of Azure Capital) and Mr Adrian Arundell (Director of Azure Capital), and accompanied by Winthrop Professor Phil Dolan, Dean of the Business School.

During the two-hour luncheon, Mr Poynton and Mr Arundell gave the students a personalised account of their business journeys so far, and discussed Azure's relationship with the UWA Business School. Students were also given the rare opportunity to have a one-on-one Q&A session with both executives, whilst taking in the magnificent views of the city from the 34th floor!

At the conclusion of the luncheon, Professor Dolan presented Mr Poynton with a gift bag created by Enactus UWA , containing various Fairtrade and sustainably produced food items.

This was the seventh of eight Student Boardroom Lunches held in conjunction with UWA Business School sponsors throughout 2014. Other organisations who have contributed include Gerard Daniels, Resource Capital Funds, EY, BHP Billiton, Mitsui & Co, ATCO and Woodside.

Students are selected to attend based on their academic achievements, as well as participation in a range of UWA-endorsed activities and groups.
