The London Mathematical Society (LMS) has elected Professor Cheryl Praeger, the inaugural Director of UWA’s Centre for the Mathematics of Symmetry and Computation, to Honorary Membership of the Society.

Each year, the Council of the Society considers the election of Honorary Members of the Society from amongst distinguished mathematicians who are not normally resident within the United Kingdom.

Founded in 1865, the LMS is the major UK learned society for mathematics, with a nationwide and international membership of prestigious associates within the field.

Australia's most highly cited pure mathematician and one of the world's top 200 most highly cited mathematicians, Professor Praeger has this year also commenced her role as Foreign Secretary of the Australian Academy of Science.

The Faculty wishes to offer our congratulations to Professor Cheryl Praeger for this truly outstanding achievement.
