CMSS was delighted to have The Hon. Liz Behjat MLC, Member for North Metropolitan, deliver this year’s annual Eid-ul-Fitr Celebrations lecture entitled ‘Observations Without Judgment’, on 31 July.
The hour long talk was attended by some 60 plus people from a number of ethnic and religious backgrounds, with Liz providing a very insightful account of her experiences gained on a recent Study Tour with the Australian Palestinian Advocacy Network (APAN) in January this year (2014).
Her travel took her to parts of Lebanon, Jordan and Israel where she got firsthand information on some of the conditions and concerns faced by Palestinians within the region.
This study tour followed on from a tour, led by AIJAC to Israel, undertaken by Liz and a number of other MPs in 2010.
