UWA Arts and Law student and recipient of the 2013 Prime Minister's Australia Asia Scholarship, Elliott Clutterbuck, who is currently a visiting scholar to Tsinghua University School of Law (China) has become something of a celebrity in China's badminton world. After recently representing Tsinghua University in the Northern China Red Bull Badminton Team Championships where they placed third out of 32 teams, Elliott found himself in demand for interviews with some of China's largest media outlets.

"As our team was the only team made up of non-professionals, and we are students at Tsinghua University, China's best university, our team received a substantial amount of media coverage. As the only foreigner in the team, and because I can speak Chinese, I had a lot of interviews with Chinese TV and newspaper media outlets, including Sina Sports (China's equivalent of BBC Sports/CNN Sports), CCTV5 (China's State Owned TV Corporation), Beijing TV (Beijing State Owned TV Corporation)."

We look forward to hearing more news out of China on Elliott's future success in this traditionally Asian-dominated sport.
