You'll want to get out your 2014 diaries and make a date to see Grad's new summer Shakespeare production, part of the Fringe World Festival .
In honour of the New Fortune Theatre 's 50 th anniversary, the Graduate Dramatic Society is staging Hamlet - the first play ever seen in UWA's replica of an Elizabethan/Jacobean stage.
The new Hamlet - on from 31 January to 15 February in the New Fortune - is a new take on an old favourite. It is also a celebration of the Bard's 450 th birthday.
You'll be welcomed to Elsinor Castle, where Hamlet's father is dead (but not gone), his mother has remarried and his new dad is his uncle. Something is rotten in the state of Denmark.
Grads are already rehearsing with director Dr Melissa Merchant , an active member of the Perth independent theatre scene for nearly 20 years.
Tickets are $34 with special group prices.
