Drawing on his interest in historical painting techniques, a staff-member and fine arts graduate from The University of Western Australia will exhibit some of his recent works during the City of Perth's Winter Arts season.
Glen Stewart, who spent time in Italy and Malta researching the Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque painting methods, often uses traditional egg tempera and oil paints to create works that evoke a sense of history and time.
Mr Stewart's fifth solo exhibition - Metafisica - also includes works in ink and verdigris.
"In this selection of recent works I attempt to embrace, soothe and provoke the viewer in a variety of ways," Mr Stewart said.
WHAT: Exhibition: Metafisica; recent works by Glen Stewart.
WHERE: Free Range Inc. Gallery, 339 Wellington Street, Perth.
WHEN: 6pm - 8pm Friday 14 June until Monday 24 June.
