St George's College looks like a big picturesque film set - and now its potential is being exploited.
The College has joined with the School of Music to present a classical concert series set in one of Perth's most inspiring buildings - the original University residential college.
The quadrangle, reminiscent of the famous race-the-clock scene from the iconic film Chariots of Fire , and the grand dining hall, with striking similarities to Hogwarts' dining hall in the Harry Potter films, were the venues for concerts in April and on Sunday 5 May.
Something Old, Something New is a mix of old and new works for cello and piano, covering the past 100 years.
Older pieces from the start of the century, with new interpretations, and new works from the later part of the century make up the program for the Sunday 5 May concert in the dining hall from 3.30 - 4.30pm.
There will also be some original music written by a School of Music student.
Bringing together some of Perth's brilliant young musical talent and some of the city's most inspiring buildings has been a hit with local audiences.
The first concert , a Brahms feast on Sunday 14 April, and A Change of Pace , featuring guitarist Don Candy and jazz pianist Josiah Padmanabham, on Sunday 28 April, were packed out.
The concerts are free but bookings are essential as space is limited. For further information and booking, go to EpicEvent or the College website .
