Leading authors Margaret Atwood, Anna Funder, Jared Diamond, Ahdaf Soueif, Robert Dessaix, China Mieville and Lawrence Norfolk will join a host of national and international writers for readings, talks, debates, and workshops at next month's 2013 Perth Writers Festival at the University of Western Australia.

"This year's program gives audiences the opportunity to hear the stories behind the storytellers and to explore that vital space where writing and art reflect and examine real life," Festival Program Manager Katherine Dorrington said at last night's program launch.

The annual Perth Writers Festival is an integral part of the Perth International Arts Festival and runs from Thursday February 21 to Sunday February 24.
