You've figured out what you'd like to study and lodged your university application online through TISC, but what happens now? When will you find out if your application is successful? What steps can you take in the meantime?

The TISC website and 2013 TISC Guide provide detailed information about the university application and offer process, so you should refer to these as much as possible. We have, however, provided some answers to frequently asked questions:

Can I make changes to my TISC preferences?

The final closing date for adding or re-arranging your TISC preferences for Main Round Offer consideration is Friday, 4 January 2013, so there is still time for you to make any necessary changes once you receive your WACE results on 31 December. Please note that it is no longer possible to add a new preference for Year 12 Assured Entry Pathways for Medicine and/or Dentistry.

If you have any questions about making changes to your TISC preferences, please contact the UWA Admissions Centre for guidance.

When will I know if I've been made an offer?

There are two rounds of offers. Main Round offers will be released on Thursday, 17 January 2013; Second Round offers are released on Monday 4 February 2013. You will also be able check your offer status on the TISC website at the time offers are released.

Offer letters will be posted to the contact address you provided on your application. If you supplied an e-mail address, we will also send you an e-mail notification, although the official offer letter will contain more detailed information and instructions. It is crucial that the residential and email address details you provide to TISC are correct and up to date. Consider this: will you still be checking your school emails after completing Year 12?

If you are unsuccessful in receiving an offer of a place for any of the courses you applied for in either round, you will be notified in writing by TISC.

What information is contained in my UWA offer letter?

  • Confirmation about which course you have been made an offer for;
  • Instructions on how to respond to your offer online;
  • Information about how to enrol;
  • Links to web pages to help you prepare for enrolment.

It is your responsibility to follow the instructions contained in your offer letter by the allocated deadlines to ensure you don't lose your place. If you are planning to be away from home at the time offers are released, it is recommended you make arrangements for a trusted relative or friend to collect your mail so they can convey any important information contained in your offer letter.

When is enrolment?

In-person enrolments for Main Round offers will be held over three days from Tuesday, 29 January (after the Australia Day Public Holiday) through to Thursday, 31 January 2013 between 8.30am and 1.30pm at Winthrop Hall on the Crawley Campus. For Second Round offers, in-person enrolments will occur on Thursday, 14 February 2013.

You will be allocated a specific day and time in your offer letter for you to attend. Please note due to venue capacity, family members and friends are not permitted in Winthrop Hall during enrolments.

Enrolment dates for the UWA Albany Campus are yet to be confirmed.

If you won't be in Perth during these times, you can enrol online. It will not be possible for a relative or friend to enrol on your behalf. Your offer letter will direct you to the UniStart website, which will provide you with instructions and resources that will guide you through the enrolment process.
