A new scholarship for students who achieve an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank ( ATAR) of 99.95 will be guaranteed to all school leavers who enter The University of Western Australia from 2013.

These prestigious $5000 scholarships will be known as Vice-Chancellor's Awards of Distinction and will be an additional category of the existing Vice-Chancellor's Awards of Distinction .

"As the State's only world Top 100 university, as measured by the Academic World Ranking of Universities (2012), The University of Western Australia is committed to supporting high-achieving students who aspire to succeed," UWA Vice-Chancellor Paul Johnson said.

The scholarship has been established to recognise and support academic achievement.
