UWA’s SNAP service will finally be put to rest during June.

SNAP was designed in-house by UWA staff over ten years ago to provide the University with its original wireless and VPN services. At the time it was at the leading edge of technology and security. Like many such systems, however, it was not designed to scale to meet the expansion of wireless and remote access brought about through mobile computing, nor to meet the security requirements of the University in the more aggressive global internet environment.

SNAP has been replaced with two new services, Unifi and UniConnect, which can scale to meet the needs of the University into the future.
