On Thursday evening (February 23) over 450 people attended the opening of the Purnu, Tjanpi, Canvas Art of the Ngaanyatjarra Lands exhibition and over the weekend hundreds of people attending the Perth Writer's Festival also visited the Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery.

As part of the activities artists from the Ngaanyatjarra lands gave talks in the gallery on their paintings and demonstrated their weaving techniques, and the two curators Tim Acker and John Carty gave a talk for the Festival and a floor talk in the Gallery.  It was a wonderful day of celebration and enjoyment.
