The University of Western Australia's Business School student Andrew Fragomeli attended this year's Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in Hawaii.

Andrew attended the summit, held between 8 and 14 November, as part of the Global Voices Australia Youth Delegation. He joined nine other students from across Australia who made up the delegation and received a fully sponsored package to attend the summit.

Delegates had the chance to interact with world leaders at the forum and share their views on the APEC vision with the APEC leaders, senior officials, APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) members and CEOs.

They also had the opportunity to attend some of the ABAC meetings, attend press conferences at the APEC Media Centre, observe special APEC symposiums on the current agenda and view the proceedings of the APEC CEO Summit.

The delegates met with the Treasurer & Deputy Prime Minister, Wayne Swan, Australia’s Ambassador to the USA, Kim Beazley, Foreign Minister, Kevin Rudd, and Trade Minister, Craig Emerson.

They also attended speeches by the Trade Minister, Craig Emerson, US President Barack Obama, the President of China, the President of Russia, the President of Indonesia, the Prime Minister of Malaysia and the President of Chile, among others.

Andrew is in his final year of a combined Bachelor of Economics and Bachelor of Commerce degree program at the UWA Business School, and will commence in a graduate role at The Treasury next year.
