Burns expert Fiona Wood will give a free public lecture - Burn Care of the Future.  Can We Think Ourselves Whole? - next Monday, at The University of Western Australia.

Winthrop Professor Wood, head of UWA's Burn Injury Research Unit, is a plastic and reconstructive surgeon specialising in burn care, trauma and scar reconstruction.  She is also director of the WA Burns Service, based at Royal Perth Hospital.

Professor Wood won Western Australian Citizen of the Year in 2004 and Australian of the Year in 2005.  She has also been named a National Living Treasure.  Her research through the Burn Injury Research Unit is focused on scarless healing.
