Palmyra Primary School and the Faculty of Education launched the ‘Our Country' Exhibition on June 27 2011.

Associate Professor Robert Faulkner ran one unit in condensed mode, over 2 weeks at Palmyra Primary School with 25 Master of Teaching Primary and Early Childhood teacher education students.

Our students learned about teaching creative arts through working with the Art teacher and the Music teacher at the school, with Robert's firm professional guidance.

This event exemplified the concept of Professional Partnership that has been driven by Associate Professor Robert Faulkner and Principal Hugh McCracken.

Guests and school families were treated to choral work, conducted by Robert, on the school's verandah followed by a series of dramatic performances by small groups of our students, all created around the theme of Our Country.

The finale for the event was a viewing in the ‘Art Gallery' of the works  presented by both the 400 school students with pieces created by our students, all demonstrating a very wide range of creative media.

The Faculty of Education are very pleased and proud that 25 UWA teacher education students, as part of the professional placements, have spent two weeks at Palmyra Primary School and helped with the workshops that have produced the wonderful artworks.

A special thank you to the students, staff, parents and members of the arts community who presented this fabulous display.
