The University of Western Australia won three out of eight categories in the Australian University Sport Awards, presented in Adelaide last week.

UWA was named overall university champion, while triathlon coach Grant Landers won coach of the year and cyclist Sarah Kent was awarded female athlete of the year.

As host of last year's Australian University Games, UWA boasted its most successful year ever in winning the Overall Championship trophy.

The 2010 Australian University Sport awards were held as part of the 2011 Australian University Sport annual conference, held in Adelaide.
