Alana Shedley, a Soil Science honours graduate from The University of Western Australia, has won the Young Professionals in Agriculture Forum's top award.

UWA graduates Rebecca Wallis and Lizzy Lowe, were awarded the second and third prizes.

Alana Shedley completed her Honours in Soil Science last year, Rebecca Wallis completed a BSc (Animal Science) last year and Lizzy Lowe completed Honours in Zoology in 2009.

Announcing the award , Agriculture and Food Minister Terry Redman said the State's agriculture and food industry was competing against other economic sectors to attract innovative young thinkers and professionals.
