A next generation wireless network called Unifi is being rolled out across campus to replace the existing SNAP wireless. Unifi is available in all areas with SNAP coverage.

Since wireless was originally rolled out at UWA, staff and students have come to rely on it as an integral part of their campus life. Unifi is an ITS initiative to replace SNAP and provide a new wireless networking experience for the entire UWA community. As Unifi is built using the latest wireless networking technology it is faster and more reliable than SNAP, supporting up to 2500 concurrent connections - three times more than SNAP.

Currently Unifi is available to all students for beta testing. Staff are welcome to participate in the testing. However, not all staff oriented services will be available until the production roll out commences. Please report any issues you encounter using Unifi during beta testing to [email protected] .

The SNAP wireless network and SNAP VPN will co-exist with Unifi until the production rollout is completed.
