The University of Western Australia's Albany Centre will hold its Open Day tomorrow, providing an opportunity to prospective students and the community to learn more about what life as a UWA student in Albany has to offer.

Staff and students will share course advice, general information and their experiences of studying and working in Albany - the site of WA's first European settlement.

Based in WA's oldest post office building, the UWA Albany Centre has offered undergraduate courses since 1999.  The Centre provides a personalised, friendly and supportive environment for students of all ages to adjust to the challenges of tertiary study.

Courses at UWA Albany include:  Bachelor of Science with a major in Restoration Ecology; Bachelor of Arts with majors in Anthropology, English (Henry Lawson lived in Albany during 1890) Environmental Studies and History;  and Bachelor of Commerce or Economics which can be started in Albany and completed in Perth.

Demonstrations, quizzes, guided tours - including a tour of the ‘dungeon', where students socialise - will be part of the day's activities.
