Marine scientists from the Oceans Institute were out in full force at the UWA Open Day on Sunday, August 15.

They gave prospective students an insight into some of the many marine study paths offered at UWA, from the conservation and rehabilitation of our coasts to the neurobiology of sharks and other fish.

Their displays included live seagrasses and Port Jackson sharks, the eye of a lungfish under a microscope, videos of intriguing animal behaviours, and an interactive puzzle for kids. There was certainly no shortage of interest from the visitors, some of whom were upper high school students with hearts already set on a marine science career.
