The Future Farm Industries CRC has secured an extra $700,000 for researchers at the University of Western Australia, CSIRO and the Department of Agriculture to further investigate drought hardy and carbon conscious grazing systems.

The aim is for farmers to be able to establish new fodder shrubs that would boost grazing while at the same time producing plants that can reduce carbon output by suppressing methane production.

The Enrich program will now be able to take its five years of research on small plots and in the laboratory and investigate the results in the paddock.
