Write a winning application!

This series of writing workshops coordinated by the UWA Research Development Office is open to all staff across the University applying for ARC Linkage Projects in 2010.

Four workshops are planned, each 2 hours long. Participants who cannot attend for the whole 2 hours or all 4 workshops are still welcome.

Each workshop will look at different areas of the application, with hints and tips, examples to consider, a question and answer session and expert help and suggestions on hand. Assessment panel members and successful experienced applicants will be helping with these.

The formal part of each workshop (between 20-40 minutes) will be followed by plenty of free time to work on applications at the venue and seek individual feedback from experts on hand.

The details of the workshops are as follows:
Time: 1.00-3.00 pm
Dates (to be confirmed):

  • Friday, 26 March
  • Tuesday, 30 March
  • Friday, 9 April
  • Tuesday, 13 April

Venue: to be confirmed

Session One will include a brief overview of the scheme and introduction to the application form.  Further details on each session's content and presenters will be sent to those expressing interest, once finalised.

Expressions of Interest:

There will be a maximum of 20 participants accepted for the workshop series. Preference will be given to those intending to submit in Round 1 (UWA closing date:  28 April), although 2nd round (3 November) applicants will be welcome if space is available.

Please notify Debbie Thackray by Monday, 22 March of your interest in attending these writing workshops, indicating:

1. Which Round you are aiming for;
2. Which workshop dates you are available to attend, (all 4 is preferred);
3. What school or centre you are associated with;
4. Whether or not you could bring your own laptop/notebook to work on. (We are trying to find space in a computer laboratory - so this may not be necessary).
