The Australian Research Council (ARC) Future Fellowships Funding Rules for 2010 are now available on the ARC website . These fellowships are open to both Australian and overseas applicants and provide an opportunity to attract exceptional mid-career researchers to UWA as well as retaining those already here.

The main changes to the scheme from the first round are summarised in Section 5 of the new Funding Rules and include modifications to weighting for the selection criteria as follows:

2009 :  Track Record (50%), Project (10%), Strategic alignment (15%), Collaboration (15%) and National Research Priority (10%)

2010: Track Record (40%), Project (25%) and Strategic alignment (35%)

The ARC has advised that the online application system (RMS) will open for Future Fellowships shortly after the closing date of the Discovery Projects round for 2011 (3 March).

External closing date: Wednesday 21 April 2010

Internal closing date: TBA (at least 10 working days prior to 21 April)

Funding rules (Application Forms are not yet available) are available on the ARC website .

Since the time between opening and closing of the round will be short, we encourage you to start preparing your applications or contacting potential applicants well before the official opening date.
